The Plaque of Recognition awarded to the Municipality of Saint Bernard honors the town’s exceptional commitment to excellence in disaster risk reduction and management. This distinction recognizes the municipality’s exemplary performance in being declared Fully Compliant during the 24th Gawad Kalasag Seal for Excellence in DRRM and Humanitarian Assistance for the 2024 calendar year. Presented on December 16, 2024, during the 3rd Provincial Peace and Development Awards in Maasin City, Southern Leyte, the award was issued by the Provincial Government through the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Signed by Provincial Governor Damian G. Mercado and DILG Provincial Director Danilo A. Laguitan, this plaque serves as a formal testament to the local government’s outstanding leadership in building a resilient and prepared community.

 

Best Area Coordinating Team (Medium LGU Category)

The Municipality of Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte, has been distinguished for its excellence through multiple prestigious honors, notably receiving a Plaque of Recognition for achieving a High Functionality Adjectival Rating in the 2025 Peace and Order Council (POC) Performance Audit. This award, presented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Provincial Peace and Order Council, recognizes the town’s outstanding performance based on 2024 data. Additionally, the ACT Saint Bernard team was honored as the Best Area Coordinating Team under the Medium LGU Category by the DSWD for their “Very Satisfactory Performance” in implementing the KALAHI-CIDSS program. These accolades, presented between late 2024 and late 2025, highlight the municipality’s commitment to both effective local governance and successful disaster response operations.
