FLOOD MAP

The Flood Map of Barangay Atuyan in the Municipality of Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte, illustrates the community’s vulnerability to flooding categorized by water depth. Based on the legend, the map identifies three specific “Actual Flooded Areas”:

• Category A (> 6ft.): Represented by the red diagonal-striped zone, this high-risk area covers 28.80 hectares along the western portion of the barangay.
• Category B (3–5ft.): Indicated by the yellow-shaded zone, this moderate-risk area covers 16.83 hectares.
• Category C (< 3ft.): Shown as the grey-shaded zone, this lower-depth flood area covers 26.66 hectares.

The map also displays Flood Routes (red arrows) indicating the direction of water flow toward the Lawigan River. Several key community structures, including the Elementary School, Health Center, and Brgy. Hall, are located within or immediately adjacent to these flood zones, primarily near the intersection of the main road and the NIA Irrigation Canal.
