The Erosion Map of Barangay Tambis I provides a spatial visualization of geological risks within the community, primarily focusing on soil instability along its water systems. The map identifies specific areas of Erosion potential (marked with red symbols) situated within the eastern interior’s rugged, high-elevation terrain, which is characterized by dense contour lines. Additionally, river banks (red outlines) along the Lawigan River and internal creeks are highlighted as vulnerable zones. By overlaying these hazard points with the community’s road network and irrigation canals, the map serves as a vital tool for local planners to identify where infrastructure and agricultural lands are most at risk from land degradation and riverbank collapse.

 

FLOODING MAP

The Flood Map of Barangay Tambis I categorizes the community’s vulnerability based on historical water levels and geographical proximity to the Lawigan River. The data identifies that the majority of the barangay’s eastern territory, totaling 177.07 hectares, is classified as Category D and remains unaffected by flooding. However, the residential and institutional core in the west faces significant risks, with 80.92 hectares susceptible to water levels under 3 feet (Category C), while 11.14 hectares are at risk of levels between 3 and 5 feet (Category B). By mapping specific flood routes (red arrows) alongside critical infrastructure like the Elementary and High Schools, this document serves as a vital guide for emergency evacuation planning and the development of long-term flood mitigation strategies.
