HAZARD MAP

The thematic maps for Barangay Mahayahay in Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte, detail a community organized into seven floral-themed administrative sectors Sunflower, Sampaguita, Kadesa De Amor, Gumamela, Dahlia, Camia, and African Daisy with Purok African Daisy spanning the largest geographical area. The area is supported by a robust hydrological network featuring multiple springs, a dam, and a reservoir, alongside the Hitunigaw River and various irrigation lines. While connectivity is maintained via an intersection of National, Provincial, and Barangay roads, as well as an extensive network of foot trails, the Hazard Map identifies significant vulnerabilities in the southern portion of the territory. Specifically, these maps highlight a large flooded area and multiple landslide areas that directly intersect with the main road networks and residential zones.
