The thematic maps for Barangay Magatas in Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte, detail an administrative and environmental framework for a territory covering approximately 117.53 hectares, characterized by rugged, mountainous terrain. The community is divided into three administrative sectors: Purok 1 Centro (49.06 Ha) in the south, Purok 2 Latay (21.5 Ha) in the center, and Purok 3 River (46.6 Ha) in the north. Topographical data reveals steep elevation changes supported by the Lawigan River (~1.8 km) and a network of internal creeks (~1.7 km), which are prioritized in the Protection Map through designated Riparian Zones to maintain ecological stability. Despite these protections, the Geo-Hazard Map identifies significant environmental risks, specifically highlighting 9.7 hectares prone to flooding along the eastern boundary and localized erosion zones (~494 Sq. m.) that intersect with the steep contour lines of the central and northern sectors.
