GEO-HAZARD MAP

The Geo-Hazard Map of Barangay Catmon identifies the primary environmental threats facing the community’s 360.70-hectare territory. The map highlights significant flooding areas (light blue) concentrated in the southern and central lowlands, particularly along the Lawigan River and the network of irrigation canals. In contrast, the northern section of the barangay features prominent landslide areas (brown rectangles), which pose a risk to the hilly terrain and the barangay road infrastructure that connects these zones. By visualizing these overlapping hazards, the map serves as a critical tool for local disaster risk reduction and management, guiding evacuation planning and long-term land-use restrictions.
